At EBM Software, getting to know our employees is the best way to understand who we are. This month we’d like to introduce you to Adrienne Groesch Krautkramer, Project Manager. Learn more about her background and what drew her to EBM Software!

Can you tell us a little more about yourself?

I am originally from Springfield, IL. I couldn’t wait to get out of a small town, just to move to an even smaller town in Iowa to attend the University of Iowa. Because Iowa wasn’t cold enough, I decided to move to Minneapolis after school to begin my career. Outside of the office, I love traveling with my husband. I also enjoy being active and doing anything outdoors – yoga, running the lakes, hiking, taking my dog to the park….

Can you tell us a little bit more about your role?

As Project Manager, I am involved in a wide variety of projects – leading and managing the project team. I am primarily responsible for planning, budgeting, documenting and overseeing all aspects of the project work. My goal is to ensure that all projects/tasks (big or small) are delivered on time, within scope and within budget.

What’s the best piece of advice anyone has ever given to you?

When deciding what I wanted to do after college, I was told that when you’re figuring out what to do with your life, it’s a mistake to first decide what you want to do and then move to the best location to do that thing. Instead, pick the place where you really want to live and go there. Your career will work itself out wherever you go.

Now, years later, looking at my own experiences and those of my friends, this seems right on. It’s hard to stay happy for very long if you’re in a place you don’t like. Also, career paths are surprising and totally unpredictable – people never seem to end up where they planned.

Who is your role model?

Hands down my mom. She has always been my role model and continues to have a significant impact on my life. She’s a great mother and continues to grow personally and professionally. Between being a mother, grandmother of 3, and a full-time job (Director of Pharmacy nonetheless) she still managed to find the time to complete her Doctorate and has every certification you can think of. We joke that she will have all letters of the alphabet behind her name before she retires.

What is your favorite quote that truly resonates with you? Why?

“Jobs fill your pocket but adventures fill your soul” – Jamie Lyn Beatty. As I previously mentioned, I love traveling and adventure! I feel that investing in experiences is an investment in yourself.

What drew you to EBM Software and what do you enjoy most about working here?

What initially drew me to EBM was the opportunity. Prior to me joining, there was no Project Management team – I had a blank canvas. Coming from a large firm where I was just another employee, for once I felt that I could make an impact on the future of a company. What I love most about working here is the people. I consider myself so fortunate work with this talented team and learn from them every day – internally and externally. Cultivating great relationships also makes the work environment more pleasant leaving you feeling more satisfied with your work and motivated to do well.
